Robin Rhode is a South African artist who works in a variety of mediums.
His photographs, although appearing very simple, are truly documents of drawing and performance art. He will use materials such as chalk, charcoal, and everyday found objects to draw and create movement and ideas. These will be adjusted or altered in each frame continuing on with this “story” to create ideas of movement and progression. Along with the drawings being created and reinvented the artist or a model will do short performances that will be frozen through photographs.
In the end we are presented with a story board of photographs that contain the frozen image, drawings and a performance.
